In line with the motto behind the creation of Amorim Cork Ventures - the first incubator and venture capital dedicated exclusively to the cork business - “Cork Challenge” represents an important milestone for the long-term sustainability of the cork industry.
By building bridges between the world of startups and the world leader in cork products, this project is a huge contributor to the economic success and innovation potential of the industry, going further than any program so far, and using recognized and tested processes and startup acceleration methodologies.
2015 & 2016 Editions
Both editions included 2 phases (Design Thinking and Acceleration) with 10 early stage startups in idea and prototype stage. The program included:

The Design thinking Session was a 2-days initiative where teams and individuals were invited to learn about Amorim, its solutions and cork usability and properties. Entrepreneurs used their first lean innovation tools to conceive and design projects using cork, with added value to the market.
4 weeks catered by Beta-innovation and Amorim Cork Ventures specialists, full of technical and networking support to growth and scale startups. During this phase, startups had not only access to workshops, coaches, mentors, new methodologies and technologies, but also access to investors, a strong community of entrepreneurs, a door for potential clients through exposure from different key events.
